Mercedes Martinez, LSW

As a Licensed Social Worker, I am passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and culturally responsive space where individuals feel heard, empowered, and genuinely respected. I earned both my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW), with a concentration in Behavioral Health, from Kutztown University.

My professional experience includes working in victim services, supporting individuals, survivors, and families impacted by intimate partner violence, domestic violence, sexual violence, and other trauma-related experiences. Through this work, I have developed a deep understanding of the lasting emotional impact of trauma and the importance of compassionate, person-centered care.

My therapeutic approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and client-centered. I believe healing begins with feeling safe and understood, and I strive to meet each individual where they are in their journey. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based psychotherapy approaches, I help clients build insight into the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing healthy coping strategies, emotional resilience, and greater self-confidence.

As a Latina, I recognize that conversations around mental health can sometimes feel stigmatized or taboo within diverse communities. I am committed to creating a welcoming and affirming environment that encourages self-exploration, healing, and a healthier relationship with mental and emotional well-being. My goal is to help clients feel supported, empowered, and never alone in the process of growth and healing.
