Internship Opportunities

The Calm Space is constantly seeking motivated graduate students who are seeking an internship.

Deadlines: 

Applications are now CLOSED for the 2025-2026 school year.

Applications are accepted for the following semesters: 

  • Fall Semester (Start in August) – Applications due by February 1. 

  • Spring Semester (Start in January) – Applications due by June 1. 

  • Summer Semester (Start in May/June) – Applications due by September 1.

What Experience Will I Get?

  • A supervised learning environment where you apply theoretical knowledge to real-world client interactions. 

  • Hands on experience in a clinical setting

  • Observing experience therapists who are trained in CBT, DBT, EMDR, and various other treatment modalities

  • Learning how to conduct clinical assessments, develop treatment plans, lead therapy sessions under close supervision. 

  • Learn various therapeutic approaches as well as alternative wellness and  holistic therapies such as Acupuncture, Reiki, Massage, and movement/wellness classes

  • Gain a deep understanding of ethical considerations all while refining your  communication and therapeutic skills to prepare for a career as a licensed therapist

Expectations & Requirements

  • Minimum Commitment - We prefer a commitment of at least two semesters to ensure a thorough learning experience. 

  • Must be enrolled in a master's level graduate program in the field of Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, etc. 

  • Able to work in person

  • Flexible scheduling to work evening hours and weekends

  • Commitment to work 4-8 hours per week during practicum.

  • Commitment to work at least 16-20 hours per week per internship guidelines

  • Open to working with a variety of different mental health disorders, ages, and cultural backgrounds

  • Hold and provide a copy of current liability insurance as a student intern

  • Provide  background clearances (FBI criminal history check, PA state criminal  history check, ACT 33 – PENNSYLVANIA
