Lifestyle Modifications
Healthy eating, regular exercise, stress management, and sufficient sleep are foundational to health. We offer to create realistic exercise plans that align with our patients’ abilities, interests, and goals. We offer a no-nonsense, affordable advice to help our patients choose and plan for a more beneficial diet for themselves, their families, and their culture. We also offer basic tips and advice on sleep hygiene. (Where appropriate, prescriptions drugs may be useful, if they are safe and accepted by the patient.)
Early Intervention
By focusing on the whole person, holistic preventive care allows us to detect health issues at their early stages, when they are more manageable and less likely to progress into serious conditions. Identifying something earlier on means it can be easier to reverse and implement new habits before a problem grows or worsens. Specific interventions may include advice on cancer screening, heart health, cigarette reduction and cessation, and immunization counseling.
Addressing Root Causes
We want to focus on the underlying factors that contribute to illness rather than only treating symptoms. Sometimes prescription medicines are useful to achieve our health goals, but it is always our aim to use as few medications as possible, at the smallest effective dose.
