Alison Lenahan, RDT

Registered Dance/Movement Therapist

Alison Lenahan is a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist who is passionate about helping individuals reconnect with themselves through both talk and movement-based therapy.

She understands how challenging it can be to find a therapist you truly connect with, and strives to create a safe, nurturing, and non-judgmental space for healing. Alison emphasizes trust, empathy, and authenticity, and takes an eclectic, individualized approach tailored to each person’s unique needs.

As a Dance/Movement Therapist, Alison believes healing goes beyond words. She helps clients tune into what their bodies are communicating and discover new ways to express, process, and grow. By integrating movement with traditional therapeutic approaches, she supports clients in deepening self-awareness and fostering meaningful change.

Alison earned her degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Dance/Movement Therapy from Rider University. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults across a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, trauma, and chronic illness or pain.

She is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and has training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Play Therapy. She also incorporates modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed care.

Alison looks forward to supporting you on your journey toward healing, self-expression, and embracing who you are.
